Summary

Amends the

Social Security Act 1991
and
Student Assistance Act 1973
in relation to: recovery of payments under the ABSTUDY and Assistance for Isolated Children Schemes deposited into incorrect accounts; issue of certain notices electronically; levels of eligible study, to include Masters degrees as eligible courses and removal of current restrictions on students receiving Austudy payments if they already have a Masters degree; rent assistance payments to Austudy students to increase support for mature age students; and access to crisis payments for Indigenous students in receipt of the ABSTUDY living allowance.
